The Labour government, fresh off dodging calls for a robust investigation into the grooming scandal, has focused on a fresh “urgency”—an inquiry into Google’s dominance of the search engine market. Yes, while children remain at risk in real-life communities, Westminster is laser-focused on algorithms and website rankings. If irony could vote, it would have a field day.
