WEEKEND WRAP WTI Crude | 27 April 2025

27/4/2025

Picture
The village lay there Sunday morning like a drunk passed out, twitching in their sleep. No school run to herd the kids through, no mad scramble for lost shoes or abandoned homework — just me, a battered old Canon slung over my shoulder, wandering half-aimlessly through damp lanes where the hedgerows were exploding with new green and the crows were kicking off over scraps.
The mist wasn't a winter cold; it was a heavy, wet blanket that clung to your face and made your boots squelch against the tarmac. It smelt like damp earth, woodsmoke, and the faint, sour tang of tractors hauling muck across the fields.

There was a stillness to it, but it wasn't peaceful. It was the stillness of a boxer in the corner before the bell rang again. You could feel it in the way the air buzzed — something coiled, something waiting to kick your teeth in if you blinked.

That's precisely what WTI crude looked like when I checked the charts — buzzing, simmering, on the cusp of a punch. Perfect.

✅ Bagged $388.56 net profit — not with luck, but sheer stubbornness.
✅ Volatility spikes came swinging like drunks at a wedding — danced round 'em all.
✅ Midweek chop tried to drown me — stayed sharp, ugly, and alive.
✅ Core WTI long still on from 63.17 — clean, lean, and mean.
✅ Tactical integrity: held together with spit, tape, and a grin.

The market wasn't handing out gifts this week. It was a thug with a brick in its hand, and if you weren't quick enough, it would carve your skull open and nick your wallet. I didn't flinch. I fought for every penny and walked off heavier for it.

Early week, I crept in quiet — tactical buys around 62.00–62.50. Slipped in under the radar, no fancy moves, no fireworks.

Midweek, the tourists got their heads ripped off. Cheap stop-outs, blind buys, headlines screaming nonsense about peace talks and production surges. I took a few scrapes (-2 to -5) but stayed in the fight, didn't panic, and didn't bleed out.

Come Friday, the battlefield was littered with broken strategies and tear-streaked Twitter threads. I locked in tactical wins, reloaded the core WTI long position during the graveyard hours of New York, and set my trap for the Monday geopolitical madness.

Right now, as I stand here — Canon slung, boots muddy, the wet spring air making my hair curl like a fried wire — I'm sitting pretty on a WTI long from 63.17. Watching. Waiting.

The charts look ripe for a punch-up:
RSI is dragging itself up from 45.80 — signs of life, signs of mischief.
ATR is squeezing down — like holding your breath before a bar fight starts.
Price is still gnawing at the 200 EMA's ankles — the serious fight's coming, one way or another.

Geopolitically? It's a festival of madness:

Ukraine is still screaming, "No Peace, No Land."
The US, Russia, and Iran are playing chicken with energy corridors.
Sanctions are tightening like a noose around the global oil tap.
There is no ceasefire, no production surge — just steady, grinding pressure under WTI's boots.

Ignore the headlines. The floor under Crude is stronger than the talking heads want you to believe. You can smell it. You can feel it, like the slow shudder of a train coming down the tracks.

Tactical Plan for Monday:

  • Hold the WTI long unless hard ceasefire headlines splatter the newswires (low chance).
  • No impulsive adds during the Globex gap — wait for London liquidity to show its teeth.
  • Add only above a 63.60 confirmed breakout or on a strong retest and hold of 62.80.

Final Quote for the Week:

"Traders don't survive because they're lucky.
They survive because when it gets ugly, they still think straight."
