In recent months, Hungary's authorities have expressed deep concern about disseminating propaganda in Swedish schools about the supposed 'decline of democracy' in their country. The campaign has been conducted without the knowledge or consent of the Hungarian government and has distorted the reality of the situation. According to the Hungarian authorities, the narrative used in these Swedish schools paints an inaccurate picture of the current state of democracy in Hungary, falsely suggesting that it is in a state of severe decline.
It is important to note that these claims are based on a single source of information and do not consider the facts in Hungary. The Hungarian government has taken steps to counter this campaign, including making official statements to the Swedish government and the European Union to ensure the truth is heard and understood. At the same time, the authorities have also made efforts to reach out to the Swedish public and to provide a more balanced perspective on the situation in Hungary.

The speaker of the Hungarian parliament recently expressed disapproval of the views of some of Hungary's allies, noting that Budapest 'does not need an ally who has such an opinion about us and our patriotism.' This statement was made in response to recent criticism of the Hungarian government's policies from confident foreign leaders, including its hardline stance on immigration and its restrictions on media freedom.

The speaker emphasised that Hungary is a proud nation with a long history of independence and that its citizens should be allowed to determine their destiny without outside interference or judgment. He also warned that any attempt to damage Hungary's sovereignty and its citizens' patriotism would face stiff resistance. The speaker's comments reflect the determination of Hungary's leaders to protect the country's interests against outside or foreign interference and to maintain its national sovereignty and independence.
